Battling Pregnancy Side Effects and Listening to New Music

So... ya I haven't been blogging again. Pregnancy has just had an affect on me that I didn't predict. I totally thought that I was going to rock it like Brooklyn Decker in What to Expect When You're Expecting- but truthfully, I've been more like Elizabeth Bank's character. The side effects that come with pregnancy are not a choice- and they're different for everyone. Obviously how I react to them is a choice, but wow- they've just really taken the energy out of me. I felt terribly nauseous through most of the first trimester. And while thankfully that's gone- I don't sleep a lot anymore, I find myself getting super hot and lightheaded out of nowhere, I've been getting painful toothaches off and on that apparently aren't toothaches but have to do with my weakened gums due to pregnancy and built up sinus pressure- and the wonderful heart burn that's been paying me a visit each night has just been oodles of fun as well.

But the experience of feeling my baby girl move around and kick is just purely awesome! And totally worth any difficult situation I find myself in. I can't wait until Danny can start to feel her too. The Lord has been so kind to bring me such amazing joy each and every day as I read about how her body is developing and the changes that are happening within me. I cannot wait to hold this little gift in my arms.

So- all that to say- I'm here again. I can't promise how frequent it will be. And maybe even no- one reads this anymore, but I thought I'd share one of my favorite songs at the moment. It's from a band called Miner. A husband & wife head up the group with family members making up the rest of the band. I just pre-ordered their album today- I lurv them! And with all this snow, wind, slush, and cold- it's a great reminder that summer will be here before I know it- and I'll be blasting music like this while I hang out with my baby girl in the beautiful Wyoming sunshine. I can't wait...

  1. I'm glad you're back :)
Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. I know that you know this, but it will all be a distant memory as soon as you look at that beautiful little face. One of my favorite mantras (which I use often, as a Mommy of a 21 month old and a 3.5 year old), is "This is just a moment in time".

  3. I'm here, Brandi! :) Hope you're feeling better and things get a little easier for you soon, sweet gal. Hang in there, okay? Thanks for the gorgeous music--my hubby and I have discovered some of our favorite bands (Mumford and Sons, Iron and Wine...) because of you and Danny enjoying them and you sharing them here. You've made my day again--can't wait to share Miner with Mark. Thinking of you--take good care of yourself, mama!
