Super Healthy Power Juice
I realize I have a habit for leaning towards the sweet, so today I thought I'd start the week off with something designed to give you energy: Power Juice. I broke out our juicer for the 1st time ever this weekend and the process was actually way easier than I thought it was going to be. I'd say the most difficult part was cleaning the machine afterwards- although the same problem arises whether I use a food processor or blender- so there really shouldn't have been anything stopping me. Just look at the pretty color...
- 1 bunch of kale, washed and chopped
- Handful of spinach (I used about a handful and a half)
- Handful of beets (I used 4)
- 1/2 an apple, not peeled (For fear of wasting, I used a whole apple)
Most of the juice came from the apple and beets (hence the pretty color).

I LOVE my juicer, although I think my model is later than yours because I cannot fit that big of a cup underneath the spout! Sometimes I juice entire bags of oranges for fresh OJ- sooo much more delicious than anything found in the stores (except for maybe Trader Joes OJ, which runs 7.99 a gallon) This sounds like an awesome juice, I think I shall go try it..
ReplyDeleteLooks pretty, and so healthy with the kale as well!
ReplyDeleteAsh what a great idea to make your orange juice that way! I don't know why I didn't think of that before lol. I'll definitely be buying a bag of oranges soon- although they definitely don't compare with the ones back home
ReplyDeleteBig Apple- I've been buying kale by the bulk now :)
Fun! At the juice bar in Whole Foods, I like their combination of kale, beets, lemon, ginger, apples, with a carrot juice base. The ginger gives the juice a bit of spice!
